Toketee in July

from $25.00

The story of this waterfall is quite interesting; when you pull into the parking lot for the trailhead, you’re greeted by the most imposing looking pipeline, made of wood staves, about 12 feet in diameter and spraying water from hundreds of leaks large and small! The purpose of this ominous-looking pipeline is to transport water taken from a reservoir above the falls to a point downriver -- part of a hydroelectric power system as well as a way to keep the water flow at an even rate during periods of high water flow due to rainfall or spring/summer snowmelt. So if you’ve seen photos of this waterfall before and thought, “It always sort of looks the same…” that’s because it was “designed” that way!
