A favorite scene, a favorite location! The summer Milky Way over Mount Washington, seen through a gap in the trees on Santiam Pass. The green glow in the sky is called airglow; it’s a natural occurrence and is essentially the visible result of energy passing through our upper atmosphere. Unseen during the daytime due to the sun’s light, it can really light up a long exposure on a camera’s sensor!
