Black-capped Chickadees are the most fearless of the birds that frequent our feeder, and if I stay still enough they’ll allow me to photograph from only a few meters away. On this day I placed myself at a spot where, if one would oblige me and land on the dry stalks of the spent Blue Globe Thistles, it would have some fall flowering purple asters as a backdrop. Well, I waited for quite some time, but one finally cooperated and I captured two quick photos before it took its turn at the feeder. I couldn’t decide which pose made a “better” photograph so I have both available! :^)
